Join us for a dream-come-true quilt retreat at beautiful Quiltville Inn in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia!
See the love and care given each of the rooms of Bonnie K Hunter's retreat house, originally built in 1884. We'll fill it with laughter, fabric and the hum of sewing machines and we'll sew, sew, sew with a walk or two for those who enjoy the outdoors and fresh air. Who knows? Maybe we'll do a little dancing on the generous wrap around porch!
SLEEPING ACCOMMODATIONS: The house has four rooms. Each room sleeps (very comfortably) up to three people. Please keep in mind that this house was built long before building codes and required accommodations for those with mobility issues. ALL BEDROOMS ARE ON THE SECOND FLOOR AND EVERY ATTENDEE MUST BE ABLE TO MANAGE THE STAIRS.
MEALS: Light lunches and dinner meals are included. Retreaters must provide their own breakfast although tea (both hot and iced) and water will be available at all times. We recommend microwaveable oatmeal, breakfast bars, and fruit and the like as it is easy to transport. Every one will pitch in with prep and clean up of one meal or another while we are at Quiltville Inn. We cannot accommodate any dietary restrictions. If you have allergies, (or just really hate something) you will have to bring your own meal substitution or go out to eat. The logistics of adjusting meals for 12 individuals is not feasible. Planned menus for each dinner will be provided once you are registered to attend.
SEWING SPACE: Each quilter will have their own 4 ft X 2 ft table which is large enough to hold a sewing machine with a little extra room for a small cutting or ironing mat. You can bring a small travel iron if you wish but leave the big ones at home as there are two cutting stations and two ironing stations. Tables from home are not permitted as there is no room for any extra tables. Each station has an individual light, rolling chair, and power tower with outlets and USB plugs. Design walls cover most of the walls.
INSTRUCTION: Bonnie Hunter will teach us Straits of Mackinac during this retreat! A class supply list is provided when you purchase your retreat. Bonnie will actively teach on Thursday, Saturday and Monday. Friday and Sunday are open sew time where you can work on Straits of Mackinac or a project you brought from home. Bonnie will be around outside of class time to answer questions and visit.
Bonnie has loads of pictures and all the details about the house on the Quiltville Inn Retreat website. I recommend you take a moment to see for yourself the beauty and magic of Quiltville Inn and Mouth of Wilson, Virginia!
COST: Please note: Cost includes lunch and dinner meals, instruction with Bonnie Hunter and are non-refundable.
